Wahab Hassan. Renowned Local Artist
Pengiran Abdul Wahab Hassan Al-Abbas is a distinguished Bruneian artist with a career spanning over six decades. His artistic journey began during his school years and has been marked by a profound commitment to portraying Brunei's rich history and cultural heritage.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Pengiran Abdul Wahab has an extensive background in diplomacy. He earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Interdisciplinary Human Studies, majoring in Philosophy and Social Studies.
Throughout his career, Pengiran Abdul Wahab has created thousands of artworks, many of which remain in private collections. His work often explores themes of patriotism, family, and traditional life in Kampong Ayer. He has exhibited his art both locally and internationally, with aspirations to showcase his work in Europe in the future.
In September 2024, his work was featured in the "Uciran Calak Brunei" exhibition at the Brunei History Centre, highlighting his contributions to Bruneian art.
